David R. Payne is the sole corporate shareholder in David R. Payne, P.A. David was admitted to practice in the State of North Carolina in 1993 and he is admitted to practice in both state and federal court, including the 4th Circuit Court of Appeals. David received his doctorate in law from Mississippi College School of Law where he received outstanding honors in the fields of federal courts, counseling and negotiations and domestic relations. He is a native of Asheville and worked in a family owned construction company for many years; he is married and has two children.
Peter U. Kanipe joined the law firm of David R. Payne, P.A. in 2002. Peter earned is undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina and his doctorate in law from the University of Tennessee, with honors. Peter is licensed to practice in both State and Federal Court and serves on the Executive Committee for the 28th Judicial District Bar. He is a native of Asheville and serves on the Board of Directors for the ARC of Buncombe County and Sports Outreach.
